Sarlat has its own train station (Gare de Sarlat), 1.5 km from the old town. The SNCF TER line connects Sarlat to Bordeaux (2.5 hours) and Périgueux (1 hour). From Paris, take the TGV to Bordeaux then a connecting TER to Sarlat — total journey around 5 hours. Book ahead for the best prices.
By Car
Sarlat is easily accessible by car. From Paris (5.5 hours), take the A20 motorway towards Limoges then the A89 towards Brive. From Bordeaux (2.5 hours), take the A89 east towards Libourne and Périgueux. From Toulouse (2.5 hours), take the A20 north towards Montauban.
By Plane
